Takhli RTAFB - Land of the King Cobra
Re: Fred A. Wilson,jr (1st Lt. in 1966)
I was an EWO on the EB-66C at Takhli then. I don't remember the incident but the website (http://www.joebaugher.com/usaf_serials/1962.html) gives info about that A/C noting the other kill. Also states 4394 was written off after an accident at Takhli.
Thanks for your service.
My hobby is building model aircraft and am completing a F-105D. I wish to include the correct marking on this model for the F-105 flown by my room mate (Fred A Wilson, Jr.) at Auburn University in the 50's when he shot down a MIG 17 on 9/21/66 while on a mission to attack the Dap Can bridge. For some reason he failed to record any info on the F-105 he was flying on that date (totally unlike him). Any info on this aircraft or where I might dig this up pls email me. Thanks. John Hodges
