Fred lived two house up from us in Valdosta Ga when he was stationed at Moody as T38 instructor. First time I ever say him was when Maxine came running down to our house and told us to turn on the news. Maxine had moved the family to Valdosta just before Fred returned home. ABC news was airing their interview with him about his Mig kill as soon as he left country. They called Maxine and told her when to watch for him. For the next few years Fred was my hero. We built and flew control wire models together. I thought there was picture of his Thud in the book Route Package Six. I know his Mig kill was recorded in it. Last address we had for Maxine was - 508 Meadow Lea Dr. Austin Texas 78745. I know Fred is gone on, don't know about Maxine.
