The NOD I filed for my DIC claim was denied. I received the letter on Wednesday 5/8, the same day I read on the internet that the VA is working to clear up the backlog of claims over two years old, in the next two months. I guess that's how they plan to do it......

I had a consultation with an attorney who specializes in VA appeals, today. He said without more information than I have he doesn't see how he can help me. The military records my husband and I sent away for are seriously incomplete. There are no evaluations or job descriptions. He was an aircraft painter/corrosion control specialist, working on aircraft on the flight line. His records did list his MOS. that wasn't good enough apparently. The attorney said he most likely was exposed by working on planes that sprayed herbicides over VN, that's what my husband believed too. He passed away from a heart attack and Type II Diabetes in 2010.
