Re: Any Successful VA Claims (Herbicide)?
My husband, Rayburn "Woody" Wood was stationed in Takhli 67 and 68. He developed 3 of the listed diseases and passed away quite suddenly in Jan 2010, from complications of those. It was suggested that I file for Dependent Income Compensation with the VA based on his Vietnam era service. After 15 months of going back and forth and actually being told on the phone it was going to rate and would be approved, rec'd a letter stating it was denied. The reason for denial as has been stated by one of the above post, he did not leave the perimeter of the base. From stories he's told, he spent time on the trim pads at the base perimeter, but I have nothing to back that up. I have been advised by someone, now retired from VA Claims, to continue to pursue. Any advise or websites I might research would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all for your service to our country and God Bless. Linda Wood
