Now that you mention it, I do remember that term "dizzy" being used. I believe that run was 183 miles. One GR engineer used to tease me that they referred to "making the turn" at Plymouth onto the Saginaw side as going onto "the narrow gauge!" I also remember one of the engineers had a unique take on snatching the train orders from the stand at Carleton. Most engineers would just reach out at the last minute and snatch them. This particular engineer would get a head start, hanging half-way out the window with his arm cocked and waving it back and forth in position to grab them. I was always afraid he was going to fall out of the engine!!
