Re: Albion interurban questions
Excellent map DaveO. Thanks. That map shows the track turning down Ann street on an angle and right in the areas that I suspected. I went on Google earth last night on street view in Albion and checked all the areas closer and there are empty spots on the lawns on Ann street where it shows the track curving and growing down Ann on an angle. It appears to curve up onto the lawn after a ways down Ann street and line up with the cement abutment that remains there today. They have done a pretty good job of erasing any traces of it though. I am assuming new curbs were built after the tracks were removed and the bed was prolly leveled off on the grass areas where the track went thru. But u can still see sum suspicious areas along side Ann street and at the end of Williams st. U can tell where it came thru as there is a gap between the 2 houses and the grass looks slightly elevated and on an angle and there is an easement at the end of Williams st. Where the tracks would have continued to the trestle.
