Hi, I apologize that this may not be the right forum for this question, but I can't think of a better place to find people so knowledgeable about transportation history.

I'm really curious about this map of Van Buren County: http://seekingmichigan.contentdm.oclc.org/cdm/singleitem/collection/p129401coll3/id/1781/rec/1

A couple questions I have about it:

1) I see Paw Paw is labeled as Lafayette. I understand this was the original village name. But, why is Lawrence labeled as Paw Paw. Was this ever really the case, or was this a cartographic error.

2) Also, what is the road running between Lawrence (shown as Paw Paw) to Keeler (well, really just to the east of Keeler)? I don't see much evidence of this road on any maps even 20 or 30 years later.
