Re: Historical footnote
This track segment was built on the abandoned roadbed of the Munising, Marquette and Southeastern Railway (MM&SE), which became part of the LS&I in 1923. Originally, there was a diamond and the DSS&A connection was on the SW quadrant. The new connection is on what would have been the NE quadrant. The location was called Evelyn on the DSS&A.
