Isn't the LakeState trackage north of Bay City dark? I believe that the FRA imposes a 40 mph maximum authorized speed on dark trackage. About 2 weeks ago, I passed a LakeState train north of Pinconning, and its speed was about 30. We took old M-76 north through Sterling up to West Branch, and it didn't come anywhere near catching up to us.
