Former New York Central tracks that had bare budget maintenance while track speed dwindled to compensate the decline in condition ARE now SEEING TRAINS moving 60+mph in some places and frequently trains that car numbers exceed 100 count.
It's also exciting to see 3-5 loaded autoracks headed NORTH SEVERAL times a week which simply translate, new business and increased commerce.
LakeState HAS transload facilities in Flint, Saginaw and Bay City and unknown to the north. Those designated team track operations have brought customers to the railroad when it may not have been otherwise realistic to bring the railroad to those customers.
I'm watching intently for future industrial park zoning that would deliver committed rail service BECAUSE NOW we have a local railroad that has proven it knows what committed SERVICE is and is an active player in growing jobs and not just in railroading but with companies that could benefit from using rail SERVICE to grow bigger and excel.
🇺🇸KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK LAKESTATE RAILROAD!!!🇺🇸
