I wonder why Amtrak did not capitalize upon
the restoration of the Michigan Central depot in
Detroit. They could have run a couple of trains from the west of Michigan into the restored
station where passengers could have toured the
marvelously restored and spent a couple of hours in revived Corktown and downtown Detroit.
Then the passengers could have reborded the
trains and headed west.

This would have promoted both the restored depot and Amtrak service. Amtrak seems to be less
than aggresive in promoting and advertising
their trains, especially in Michigan.
