I was pleased to see the story in the morning Detroit News about Dan Gilbert's strong support
for increasing mass transit in metro Detroit. I
believe that he is recommending a new line from
booming downtown Detroit to Metro airport, extending the Q line to Pontiac and a new line
on the east side going into the suburbs perhaps along Gratiot or East Jefferson.

Does the Michigan Association of Railroad Passengers have a definitive paper showing how
improved mass transit would play a role in turning around Michigan's current trend toward stagnant and then declining population? That demographic trend will likely terminate economic growth?
