Over the years, I have had countless dealings with Allan Shaw, who runs Rediscover Music/Folk Era Records. A very trustworthy and reliable gentleman.
Allan, together with John August Lee (aka: "Triofan"), got hold of the "Mono" tapes recorded at Murray State College, located in Murray, Kentucky, recorded on November 4, 1965.
Allan, without exception, always looked for the best audio recordings available, be it in Mono or Stereo, so he could release them on his Folk Era label.
If "Snapshot" (Live In Concert, 1965) tapes were available in Stereo, Allan (and co-producer John August Lee) would have released the 2-CD concert in Stereo and not in Mono.
The 2-CD album I've got in hand is:
THE KINGSTON TRIO SNAPSHOT (LIVE IN CONCERT 1965)
UPC: 45507-14772
Folk Era Records: # FE1477CD
Released: 2008
If somebody is offering this album as "First Time In Stereo", then perhaps "Artificial Intelligence" was being used or some type of technology we don't know about.
All I know is I trust Allan Shaw and John August Lee and am very happy with the sound of this recording as is.
