As we know, The Kingston Trio ignited and supercharged the folk music boom of the late 1950s and early 1960s, but being a folk group with a pop/jazz groove, they didn't please the more elitist and pure keepers of the folk music flame. Anyway, I loved what they did, and it led me and likely countless other listeners to discover the artists behind many of the songs The Kingston Trio recorded.
So, please listen to this song from 1961, particularly the bass line performed by David "Buckwheat" Wheat, a jazz bassist, and The Kingston Trio's in-studio and road bass player at the time. Whatever Buckwheat is doing works, or does it? Your comments are Welcome!
