I know of no other Dave's Place episodes available on line or elsewhere. The ABC might sell you a copy in PAL format direct, like mine, but it is more unlikely than not unless you convince them it is for a special purpose.

My copies were purchased in the late 1990s as I recall. They were on VHS and quite expensive. I converted the tapes to digital myself.

Some people that were actually on the show, or for some other reason that seemed appropriate, got stuff from me quite a long time ago but I have otherwise been reluctant to distribute it because of my signed legal agreement with the owners.

It was 1965, so I do not have a full memory of the answer to your second question. However, at that time the unions representing performers in various areas had secured an agreement that made it mandatory for local TV to contain a fixed percentage of Australian-sourced content but I can not recall the figure involved. This would have limited the number of overseas acts that would be allowed to perform on a TV show. The ABC, that screened Dave's Place, was owned by the Federal Government and would have strictly adhered to that requirement. I think there was something about this on Dave's interview in the KTOR book.

Moreover, many acts that were touring the country had clauses in their contracts requiring them to perform on a certain TV network and nowhere else. In the 60s and 70s it was common for an act to record their live show or do a TV special that was shown after they had left the country. I seem to remember that some of the acts I mentioned in my last post did a special for the commercially owned Seven Network and so could not appear on the ABC with Dave. There were more of those than I can remember - Lightfoot, Jagger, Orbison, Beatles and so on.

Finally, Dave did play banjo on just two occasions in his TV show. The first was in Episode 2 where he accompanied Judy Henske on Charlotte Town on a banjo wih a resonator, and the second was in Episode 5 where he used his classic Vega long-neck on an African song called Oalla Mohololo, which incidentally I was later told by Cyrus Faryar was recorded for the aborted second Whiskeyhill Singers album.

Dave played several types of acoustic and electric guitars on other songs that were mentoned in my old artice about Dave's Place many years ago.

As I mentioned on my last post, Dave was into electric gospel music at that time. He reportedly thought it would be the next big thing. So a banjo was probably redundant.
