Prior to Chuck's passing (several years ago), we became very good friends via the Internet and we exhanged e-mails quite frequently.
In fact, Chuck was a huge fan of GORDON LIGHTFOOT and whenever he was looking for a specific "Gordo" record album....
I'd send it to him in San Francisco, California ~> free of charge. I refused to accept any money.
Not to be undone, Chuck Cline, in return, would send me albums by two vocal groups he was associated with....
The County Line Trio....and another band called....Singleton-Drohman-Cline. (they sounded a lot like Crosby Stills & Nash)
Chuck too, refused to accept any money from me !!!
I still enjoy listening to Chuck's albums, and it brings back some great memories.
I miss his e-mails loaded with lots of humour in addition to curious stories about the music business.
Once I'm here, Susan, I might as well give you one more GORDON LIGHTFOOT quote:
"I never believed - or knew for sure, that I would be able to make a professional life in music. But somehow, it just turned out that way."
- Gordon Lightfoot
Thanks for chiming in, Susan. Much appreciated.

There was a time Gordon Lightfoot had a recording contract with Reprise Records, owned by Frank Sinatra. Evidently, Frank was interested in recording a Gordon Lightfoot song but according to 'Gordo' (as Brucester calls him) Frank couldn't quite grasp the folk feel of the tune. How did Gordon Lightfoot feel about it? He laughed and said "That's Life." :>)
