Max, I was just playing hard to get.
No, actually, Julie & I took a U.S. Road Trip and we just got back to Montreal a couple of days ago.
Our GORDON LIGHTFOOT was not the only Canadian who enjoyed visiting the United States !!!
We had a great time, but got the sad news about Gordo's death when we reached Burlington, Vt on May 1st.
It's amazing how much Americans loved GORDON LIGHTFOOT....
and I've often been told, besides his singing and songwriting, what added to Gordo's appeal was...the fact he was Canadian.
As you can imagine, Max, our country is still in mourning.
Radio Stations are playing GORDON LIGHTFOOT songs throughout the day and Canadian Newspapers are running stories about "Gordo"....
including tons of pictures. So many memories.
I, too, have been grabbing my GORDON LIGHTFOOT record albums and staring at the covers.
Julie (who is originally from Albany, NY) just put on his LP: "Back Here On Earth"
RIP: GORDON LIGHTFOOT (1938-2023)
