Yes, this morning I woke up to the horrible news that Rick Daly passed away. I was so shocked and taken aback, I called in sick and took the day off from work.

Rick and I go back a long way exchanging e-mails and discussing The Kingston Trio and Folk Music among other things. Some very personal.

His passing today took me by surprise and was totally unexpected. I still can't believe it.

Rick Daly's presence on his website "Folk USA" as well as on Ken Laing's "Kingston Crossroads" was enormous and so many of us looked forward to what Rick had to say. We enjoyed Rick's insight and his sense of humor immensely.

Sadly, it will never be the same.

We owe a ton of thanks and gratitude to Rick Daly for preserving Folk Music on this "Folk USA" website which reflected the heart and soul of America.

Goodbye Old Friend. We Will Never Forget You.
