About transparency for royal duchies

I am posting the link for this video because the discussion is very relevant to all that is besetting the royals these days.

Norman Baker supports monarchy.

At the very end he is asked if he can think of any gift from the royals to the public, since Edward VII gave Osborne House and land. He could not. I thought that King Charles gave away some windfall profits from coastal windfarms, if I recall at all correctly.
Anyway I post this video because it shines a light on things that do need to be considered.

Nellie, you are correct concerning the windfall profits.
A very interesting video and it certainly raises many questions about the Royal's power vs. Govt. power concerning taxes and spending. There's much to ponder and certainly raises questions over William's decision in Cornwall.

Thanks karenl for finding that story.

I would think that the best chances of overhauling royal finances rest with William, but might have to wait until he is the monarch.

Smart investments that help the public are good, but they need strict oversight to make sure that money is spent wisely.
