Their endeavors have not brought them the level of financial independence they anticipated so they're returning to being "royal". They aren't bringing light to worthy causes or individuals, they are hogging the spotlight because they're trying to bring adulation and money to themselves.

Charles issued a statement, which apparently has been all but ignored, that Harry and Meghan are private citizens. Look at the Sussexes, swanning around like it's 2019 and the world's their oyster. No, Charles needs to remove them from the royal website and have Harry removed from being a Councillor of State and the line of succession. Exclusion from royal events hasn't been enough, they just invent their own "royal events" and summon the paparazzi to cover the squeals from their squad members to give the illusion that they matter.
