It's unfortunate that any of the participating countries feels the need to withdraw, but this will probably the first of several who want to distance themselves from the nonsense. This doesn't bode well for the fundraising, which is behind schedule as is. If there's a cascade of withdrawals, without enough funding, the games will collapse. No one wants that.
