I think the King is smart enough to see through Harry's wanting Pa with him at the Invictus Games. I agree, it's Harry's ploy to bring in money and donations. IG is still a way off and the MOD may still cancel IG.
As for the "reconciliation", I was listening to my podcast this evening and they were talking about the Sussex meeting at Highgrove. The host stated the meeting was a flop. The actual visit/meeting only lasted 47 minutes and Meghan "was seen storming out of the house at Highgrove with a "furious" look on her face and went straight into their vehicle. In addition, when the family reached London, Meghan and the kids flew back to Calif. that same night. Private jet of course. The host stated that the info was provided by Tom Bower. Things weren't so hunky dory.
Further, when the family visited Althorp, they were specifically told no photographs or filming was to take place. Meghan secretly took a ton of photos, hence the one with Harry and the kids. There is a story that Charles Spencer is furious with Harry and Meghan after their visit. I don't know if either anecdote is true, but I could see both.
