Same here. William seems very principled so I don't think this is announcement meant to placate critics of the monarchy. He's bought himself a decade before he needs to do anything or risk being called out. By 2036, William will probably be king and the duchy will be controlled by the next Prince of Wales. George may have different ideas of what to do with the duchy.
