The Royal Palace in Oslo has confirmed to the public broadcaster NRK that Princess Astrid, who is 94, has had pneumonia. She is now getting better, the Palace says. From what I hear she has struggled a bit to shake off the illness, which is of course not uncommon for someone her age. The King and Queen were seen at the National Hospital in Oslo yesterday before leaving for their traditional Easter holiday at the Princes’ Cottage in the remote valley Sikkilsdalen. I am sure everyone wishes Princess Astrid, the model of what a public servant should be, a speedy recovery.
