Even though the article states that Beatrice was "blindsided" by the decision, I really doubt they would have attended Royal Ascot anyway, or the Trooping this year. Those two occasions are the only two times we see them now.
The media has been condemning Beatrice and Eugenie from the summer/fall when the Epstein Files were first released with Andrew and Fergie's e-mails revealed. The media has whipped up the public into a frenzy, calling for both women to have their titles stripped from them. It's true we don't know how much each knew about their parent's involvement with Epstein or about Andrew's dirty work as trade envoy. It's up to the investigators to find out.
I can see that the Royal Family would like both sisters to assume a very low profile, the Royal Family's popularity has taken a hit.
