I don't think the newly-hired media person would have been sent to London to ask for money on the Harkles' behalf. More than likely it was a one-drink meeting where pleasantries were exchanged and nothing substantive was discussed. Charles doesn't have his aides conduct meetings in public places, so my hunch is that this "meeting" has all the heft of two neighbors waving 'hello' in passing.
