1937 - King George VI and HM Queen Elizabeth were crowned at Westminster Abbey on the date previously intended for his brother's coronation. In a break with tradition, his mother, HM Queen Mary attended the ceremony in a show of support for her Son.











When I see this photo I always think Queen Mary looks like she's near to tears.
