Carolyn, I'm a history teacher. As you are understandably critical of paintings that aren't historically correct, I'm the same with movies based on historical events that incorrectly portray well-known and documented events. Of course, not every scene in a historical movie can be realistic if no one actually knows what happened. But there are many that can be. I guess that's why I can't watch things like The Tudors without wanting to thrown something at the screen. I understand your feelings on this topic.
