Well, as you know, I'm not a mayonnaise person at all, not from childhood on. I loved butter on my leftover turkey sandwiches. The place where I had a roasted turkey sandwich once a year put butter on them, and served it with something like 1,000 Island on the side, in a little cup.
That's so funny, as I used to read while eating...my whole life. We did have our dinners at the table growing up, but we read there. The newspapers by my parents, books for we children. You didn't have to read, but I enjoyed it, and no one was going to talk to you anyway, if you didn't, so you might as well! No reading at my grandmothers' tables, though.
We used meals to talk about things with our children. No reading.
Now, Dh and I will often watch something. Probably a terrible habit, but...
