(This is the weekly post where you share your week of food. Did you have anything that really made your week, such as your favorite soup, a lunch out, or maybe you had something new? Find a new food product? A new appliance? Please do share!)
We had mixed dinners, most very easy.
What really has made my meals, though, are 2 things:
Olives. These are not vinegar and salt based, they are just salt. That makes them the deli pickle of the olive world. These are flavored, one with Italian herbs like basil, and the others are just plain tasty. There are 4 types per jar.
Unfortunately, it looks like I can't get more.
The other thing is the Sunbutter. I have been eating it, literally, by the spoonful. The jars that I have, have some whole seeds in them, and it's roasted.
Each evening, after a meal, I crave dessert. I rarely have anything, though. Well, this week, I've been eating a teaspoon or 2 of Sunbutter in place of sweets, and it's satisfied me every time.
We got the vegetables that I've been waiting for, and I've processed a lot of it. I want to still pickle the beets w/ onions, and we have to work on the carrots, so that I can make some freezer meals with them, but it's been a good start.
I got more onions, broccoli, greens, carrots, celery, 4 really nice looking sweet potatoes, beets, garlic, and some oranges for Dh. I got my cabbage at the beginning of the month.
I was beginning to wonder what to do about my meals without any vegetables, so now I'm back on track.
Oh, and Ds threw a box of blueberries in, which I didn't know that he was going to do, and they are very good right now.
The other day, when I was prepping and cooking the broccoli, I sliced the peeled broccoli stems into coins. Then, I cooked them separately, with just olive oil, and salt, and I got them brown. They were delicious! We found ourselves snacking on them.
How was your food week?
