That means that I panic, then buy things that I wish could wait, but can't currently, because they are not producing more, and are running out of stock.
I just bought, for example, boxes of our pasta. They had 1 left of each type. Well, not true. There was one left of one type, which was $4. more than I paid last time, and 6 boxes left of another. I bought one, that had also gone up, but not too much, and the others were really expensive, like $20. extra for a box of 12! I skipped those. I got spaghetti, elbows, and a couple of bags of the penne. There were some individual bags of penne...$18.99 a bag!!! Maybe someone will buy them at that price, but not me.
I would like to get meat, I have been out for a couple of weeks now, and feel pretty bad. I need to eat red meat. We are going to call today to see if they are still open, and, if they are, if they have any meat left. The regular meat at the store, according to Ds, is mostly missing, but when there is some, it looks very bad for the most part. If I can't get meat, I will have him to keep looking, in case there is some that looks fresh.
I also bought garlic powder, and need extra olive oil. I hope that Ds will stop at Food Maxx in Ukiah, as they carry it...or did a couple of months ago. Safeway has been spotty in what they have, but they usually carry the smaller bottles, which I will get if they have them, and that's all that there is.
I *think* that Ds will shop today, but can't be sure. He might work late. Whichever day he shops, I want to get some more basics in, if they have them. We'll see.
Also, chicken food is going to be needed, etc. I got scrubbers, and baggies, at a super good deal. So, if we're careful, those won't be needed for a while.
All of that, just to say that I know how you feel spending more than you'd like to, but you want to have things on hand.
Brrrr, it's cold right now. It's been 50's at night, but right now it's 36. Hold on, turning on some heat.
Okay, it should feel more comfortable in a few minutes. It's nice to not need it all the time.
Your canned meats are a good idea to have in the house.
Yes, it sounds like you had a good shopping day.
I can only imagine the amount of demand for hand sanitizer. Someone set up to make and market it, could make their fortune right now.
What a shame about them leaking.
Batteries, so important.
Good on the filters. I just got a spark plug for the small gen. It's the little items that we need sometimes, and there's no replacement for them.
It always feels great to have the shelves filled! I don't need pet food this month, or next...so I am paying a double shelter bill, and that double phone bill. It was the only way to work it, but I am glad that I kept the extra pet food. There wasn't nearly as much as they said they were sending, but again, I'm glad to have dry dog and cat food for 3 months.
Yes, Ds and I need to talk about water bottles. His boss had his kidney replaced 2 days ago, though, so he's temporarily in charge, which means busier than usual. Well, the bosses son is, technically, but it's Ds doing everything. He's dropping maps with a woman that works for them, he's meeting the guy he works with...not at the moment, but previously...with the gps, and he's taking in the breathalyzer info 2ce a day. When there's an issue, he has to go on site where the other guy is, even though he's working as well. So, hopefully, I can get my shopping done today, and we can talk about water!
I'm glad that you got so much of what you needed. I am surprised though that, with Coke being so popular, it wasn't the one out of stock.
Have a great day!
