There's a big push for people who are getting older to practice balance. There's even a thingamajig that you stand on which works on that.
And, it makes sense. Balance is so important as you age, especially.
I have stopped running, too. I lack confidence now, but it's probably well founded because of drops in blood pressure that I can't predict.
I guess that the problem, as I see it, is that the consequences of falling become more serious with each decade that we age.
Both my dad's mother, and my mom's father, fell. My dad's grandmother fell, and, my mom for that matter. My mom suffered with a very painful crushed shoulder.
My paternal grandmother broke her hip and ended up in a care facility. My maternal grandfather died in ICU after a surgery to fix the hip that he broke. And, my paternal great-grandmother died from the fall itself.
Also, sadly, ddil's aunt, who was in her 90's, died yesterday after a fall, though I don't know if something happened and she fell, or she fell and died as a result of the fall itself.
She lived to see the wedding, but was so excited to see the baby. If she'd lived just 6 more weeks...
Anyway, I don't have details, but she was found with a head wound from having hit something with her head. There was quite a bit of blood, according to ddil. :-(
Anyway, I don't mean to sound discouraging to you, it's just that for me, it makes sense not to run alone. Now, if Dh wants to run with me, holding hands, especially somewhere without potholes and rocks to trip on, maybe at the beach at water's edge....now that would be do-able! :-)
As long as your financial status doesn't go down?
The top psychiatrist for men's health calls that: Angry man syndrome. It's really difficult for women to understand or deal with. And they say that women have issue? Let he without issues, throw the first stone!
I'm sorry that Ds is going through whatever he is, and that it's spilling over into your life in a negative way. Hopefully, as his health improves, he will mellow, and also give you the help that you need. Although, my situation is not that different, as far as getting things done. Not the same reasons, but same result.
Yes, there's always is a price to pay.
I hope that your spaghetti dinner was as good as it sounds! It would be in my top 5 dinner choices, if I could have whatever I wanted appear in front of me like magic! (And, be able to eat anything that I wanted!)
I hope that you've had a good day. It's been raining since last night here, but has slowed to a very pleasant light rain that's soothing to listen to. :-)
