teh Big West unfortunately has had their RPI slip, and especially Poly/UCSB losing to take those two teams from top 100 down below top 150, not a single Big West team in the top 150 RPI (granted RPI early season can change a lot), while Long Beach is at 33
the main benefits to the resume is basically things Beach is 1) winning and winning a lot, as Big West RPI state means wins don't increase, and losses drop 5-7 points, 3 losses means going from 33 to 50 ish and on teh bubble and mercy of a committee.
2) Utah, Wyoming, LMU, Wazzou. the best thing is for all four to contend for their conference, which aside from Utah I think they shoud, and get close or below RPI 50, Utah is at 52, because then Beach gets a desperately need quad 1 win (or two)
2b) UCSB & Poly winning and getting/staying in top 100. can probably not expect any more Quad 1 matches, so at least a couple Big West teams in Quad to and say going 3-1 (or 3-2 with a loss in the BWCT) would be a high percentage quad 2
bound to have some quad 3 loss (above RPI 100),which is ok, unless you get more. 6 total losses is usually good for a Big West at-large, just this year 5 is more along the number given how bad the Big West did last two weeks.
IOTW,getting in at an at-large is hugely difficult, so it's winning the conference and then the BWCT
Quad 1: 0-2 (UCLA)
Quad 2: 4-0 (with 3-0 on the road!)
basically QUad 3 and above it doesn't even matter to committee, it's all consdidered poor scheduling for the P4 driven NCAA. regardless of how touch Sac State or North will be in conference and they will be very competitive and each have some very good players.
at least it's great for what Reagan and the team have done to position this team/program this year with some good National Exposure. I think Long Beach may well show up in the polls this week outside the top 25. They team has earned that respect. and per Knipe, they just need to avoid the noise, which is what this post is lol
