Tyler was hired at Saint Mary's because of Rob Browning (a connection Tyler made through USA Volleyball). And he left Long Beach because Conolley made Andy Fee backtrack on his commitments to Tyler (which were originally made at the behest of Alan Knipe). They all ended up on the sh*tter because of that deal.

I would say there is no way after one year, but you never know. I seriously doubt with his zig zagging coaching path and a not so great season at St Mary's he's not going to be on any short list for high profile jobs.
I do wonder if Walters at Cal Poly would try for this position, and how much Cal Poly would seriously consider. there will be the usual 'steal a top 20 coach' speculation . These ADs IMO probably just get out the rolodex of their VB contacts they know since they have no clue about the actual potential skill level of candidates.
