We found what I think is a solid MBB coach. At least you can understand what he says and actually knows how to communicate
Agree WVB coaching change could be a crap-shoot. It's hard to judge Natalie, she might be a long-term solution.
Hilliard was a hot commodity 8 years ago at USD, and has struggled like hell at SDSU, but finally having a little better season.
Bre Mackie took over a tough job and situation at Ole Miss, and she and Taylor Gregory area having a very good year so far in a tough conference. guessing though leaving teh confines of the $$$ of the SEC if they finish would not be an attractive option unless she's dying to get back to California. If she can get that team to the NCAAs, my guess is she'll be getting a nice raise at Ole MIss or elsewhere
Nicole Vargas. has the worst possible gig at Fullerton. Hard to judge most any coach at Fullerton. She certainly doesn't smile much, lol
those are Beach background coaches, lol
every other candidate we go after will look at Beach as a stepping stone, so given Natalie has held her own in recruiting so far in tough circumstances, I think she may be the best option to give a permanent contract. It's like Moneyball, this team needs a Billy Bean to go into the locker room, and hit the trash cans with a volleyball and light a fire with these women and get some fundamentals of floor defense in practice. these players are capable of receiving better than they are, there's no excuse. if Chacon and Velucci can't keep order in that backcourt, then time to try something else that will. too much rewarding of failures going on
Coach has a young team. Do we have the money for better? Probably not. With our lack of money we will be lucky to get any new coach to stay more than 2 years or so. It's called pick your poison.
