that would be the way they could just make March Madness exclude all these auto-bids, and take the rest of the money (they are hogs after all) for themselves.
that is what I see coming. The NCAA saying to all but P4 take it or leave it.
and so like FCS football, all the other sports become FCS or D1A basketball, volleyball
formally relegate everyone else to a different division, not D2, but not D1
right now it's inferred, just as they want and think they deserve all the spots in a football playoff, they'll get there for Basketball (Mens and Women's), and work their way down. could see WVB and Basebll/Softball next on the list after football/basketball. Then maybe Soccer.
beyond that they probably don't care: just that I could see them wanted to do all sports at once to D1A and D1.
MVB & Water Polo and some other fringe sports they'll make exceptions just because they NEED all us peons to have a sport lol
as an aside, I didn't watch any football this weekend, kind of nice to just ignore the sport, takes some getting used to. but I have no teams, the Rams for me were 1970s lol, liked Green Bay for awhile, but just doesn't do it. my bias and offense at what the sport has become I supposed, filled big stadiums don't mean anything to me for that sport - I see people wasting 6 hours out of their day, but that's me Previous Message
Football will be carved out from the other sports. So, conferences could potentially realign based on geographical footprint, although it remains to be seen whether Big 10/SEC/Big 12 teams would do that. Previous Message
