Unless you were on the committee, you know nothing except what is on paper. Reserve judgement until you meet the person. Sounds like who ever is selected will have 2 strikes against him/her.

there won't be much negotiation, pretty sure the salary expectations were pretty clear for all coming in, given the financial constraints. IMO, a candidate would have had to not be very forthcoming about their interest if they thought there was going to be any sort of significant negotiation for this position.

If no announcement today, I'm going to suspect:
1) all three candidates got cold feet because the position reports to the head of Bean Counting, not the President.
2) JCP did not like any of the finalists because they weren't sufficiently woke.
3) the first choice is using this as a negotiating ploy at their current school and asked us to wait for an answer over the weekend.
