I just can't see where the students would give a favorable rating, simply because students resist any cost increase, especially when frankly 80% of them don't care about the sports programs.
The survey though was clever in that it didn't bring up the cost so much as the benefits, so will the students simply respond that they don't see a benefit to them, and then how will Jane process that data. that's the crucial/scary part, from the story if you read between the lines it basically implies cutting 1 or 2 sports and/or only funding 80% of schollies, I mean how else do you come up with $4 million?
and before she does approve, now that it's publicized, I expect she's going to get some very VOCAL opposition to implementing it, with some pretty scathing statements against it. Frankly, it's gonna be the most impactful decision she probably makes for her entire tenure as President.
If she doesn't approve, then Beach might as well go D2, except for having an elite Men's Volleyball team since that is a D1-D2 sport.
