Re: occult phenomena or sleep disorder?
Dear Kitty, Thank you so much for your response. Some points you brought up and my response:The hallucinations are quite substantial, varied widely, and I know on several occasions I have been wholly awake. One of the particularly nasty "apparitions" I had to literally "stare down" to make depart. One morning there were green raindrops pouring horizontally through my wall and I watched them for several minutes. I sat up to do so. The neurologist did a number of diagnostic tests with electrodes and monitors and whatnot, both sleeping and waking, and found no definitive diagnosis of epilepsy or any other particular disorder. I realize none of these factors "proves" anything either way. I guess my reason for exploring this further is the feeling that with the medication I'm on,while I do sleep, I miss dreaming. I even miss the sense that the hallucinations meant something--either in my subconscious, as you pointed out, or in some more spiritual sense. I am trying meditation and creative visualization and perhaps this will help. Thank you again. :-)
