: ERA Rodeo -- Hi Robbie Raveling. Good
: question. The athletes will compete in the
: PRCA rodeos and at the NFR in Las Vegas if
: they qualify for it. They have decided as a
: group to not participate in the PRCA
: sanctioned tour rodeos and to focus only on
: the ERA Tour for 2016. Thanks for your
: interest!
:
: Charmayne James --Donna and Trey - Over
: several press conferences, social media and
: official ERA news it's been stated there
: will be a qualifying system that ensures the
: best athletes. Anyone who cannot compete at
: the ERA tour level based on their
: performance will be replaced by another
: athlete that has qualified. That has been
: clearly stated. Yes a founder that is not
: winning will not stay on the tour.
:
: Ryan Mason -- I love the idea of their being
: an "Elite Rodeo Tour" and I hope
: this does real well. But does anyone else
: feel like this is a "I am going to take
: my ball and go home" movement by these
: 70+ rodeo athletes. I am just concerned
: because it appears the investors/owners are
: the same ones who will be determining the
: schedule, qualification system, who
: qualifies for the finals and then be the
: only ones competing - at least in the
: beginning. For me to take this new elite
: association seriously, I need to first see
: the qualification system and the what
: happens to the ones on tour when they are
: not competing at a high level any longer. I
: would also like to see how you qualify for
: the finals. If you only start the tour with
: 12-15 in each event, what are the finals
: going to look like? Just some thoughts and
: questions.

: ERA Rodeo Hi Ryan Mason! Those are GREAT
: questions! The qualification system will be
: announced in Mid-October. Also, the ERA was
: created by the athletes for the athletes.
: They have a say so in every decision that
: the ERA makes. The decisions are not made
: only by the owners and investors. I hope
: this helps clarify a few things until the
: qualification system is announced. Thanks
: for your interest!
:
: Bobby Mote -- Please don't take my response
: as snippy. I may not be Elite anymore but I
: think when you see the roster you will be
: very pleased. As I stated earlier the
: qualifying system will determine who should
: and who should not be on tour. Bottom line,
: win and your in and if you can't win against
: the 10 best then you will be replaced by the
: top qualifiers
:
: Bobby Mote I'd like to answer a few of your
: questions. This group was formed to build,
: grow and strengthen the great sport of
: rodeo. As far as choosing which rodeos we do
: or do not go to. We've been doing that for
: years. We decide to go to Houston, Calgary,
: American or shootouts. When we go to those
: events we miss a rodeo in another town but
: yet that's ok in the publics eye. We have
: created a qualifying system that allows
: anyone with the ability to qualify to be on
: tour. The reason the details have not been
: released is simply because we are running
: tests on that system to be sure that it will
: work as intended. The reason that it does
: not start until the 2017 season is so
: athletes will have the opportunity to
: understand and prepare for that qualifying
: system. The reason that the first year's
: roster does not have a place for qualifiers
: is because the ERA is not affiliated with
: any other organization to have
: qualifications from. Our roster is made up
: with athletes from several different
: organizations. We made every effort to bring
: the best talent and most well known names to
: the fans. Unfortunately there were a lot of
: great athletes left out since the roster is
: 10 athletes in each event. The good news is
: that, based on ability those athletes will
: most likely be on tour starting in 2017. The
: qualifying system will ensure the best, most
: capable athletes will be on tour for years
: to come. Some have been under the assumption
: that the ERA is operated by the athletes,
: the fact is; The ERA is athlete owned and
: professionally managed. We recognize that
: our strength is what we do in the arena. We
: have hired the best, most capable
: professionals with over 75 years of
: experience to lead this league. I can assure
: you all that the heart of this group is to
: protect the integrity of this sport that we
: all are so passionate about and to bring
: rodeo to fans everywhere. I hope this
: answers some of your questions. It's great
: to see that so many of you are so passionate
: rodeo and I appreciate you interest.

: I guess they will be poached from the
: prca...isn't the college athlete and the
: permit cowboy the feeder system for the
: prca...I know the PBR cuts the bottom 5 and
: promotes the top 5 on its 2nd tier pro
: tour....I guess the ERA would have to adopt
: something like that. I believe the ERA is
: putting too much stock in how much star
: power will draw fans..In the prca most
: cowboys have to pay a entry fee..If the ERA
: doesn't require an entry fee from their
: stars..the money will have to come for the
: prizes from attendance I guess..or
: sponsors...maybe it will work..

: Without a signed contract, don't see this
: going anywhere. But the world is screwed up
: these days, guess anything is possible.
: Guess it will depend on the judge that rules
: on it, then he will be overturned by another
: judge, and he will be overturned by another
: judge, and round and round you go.
:
:
: However, to add one more thing. The PBR
: guys are allowed to compete at the PRCA
: rodeos, they just can't miss a PBR event to
: compete at another association. They use to
: throw them out if they did. Not sure what
: they would do as of today.

: out.
