- You need a lot more water for nuclear power than what was available from the Black River, especially in that area, or so I've heard.
- The last movement on the line, to the best of my knowledge, was in 1999. There was supposed to be a transformer or something moved in/out around 2002/2003, but DTE was able to move it in/out via truck. That was the last planned movement of any kind to Greenwood by rail, as far as I am aware.
- The M-19 crossing in Yale was removed when M-19 was repaved/rebuilt a couple years ago. Supposedly it was removed with DTE's permission, and will be reinstalled if the line is ever reactivated (not likely). In addition to the overgrowth and gravel build up on the crossings, there is at least one bridge that would need to be replaced northwest of Yale (near the county line, if I recall correctly).
