I don't know the reason. It seems a shame, though as they have plenty of sets around. We went to the studio, and there was a room the size of an airplane hanger. The sets were stacked like cards up against each other and labeled with what they were. It was so strange to see, Luke's club stacked next to Sonny's house. The only permanent set is the hospital hub. So, I don't know why they don't use what they have or re-work them. To me, the sets are the least of it. My husband and I were watching old "Honeymooners" on Tv the other night. They had basically one set, the kitchen, and told their weekly stories in that one room. The writing was brilliant. The acting was also brilliant. It really is all about the writing and acting. Costumes and sets are window dressing.

What is the sudden surge in outdoor scenes shot in the same location? Everyone in town goes to one spot in a teeny tiny park? Is this a fourth quarter emergency budget saving move or an attempt to jazz up the show? I don't get it and I find it so distracting. And I can't imagine that much money is being saved because they don't have to erect sets. This is NOT the good old days of Gloria Monty filming on location. Those scenes were riveting (Luke and Jennifer's aborted wedding, the sailboat seduction, the Mayor's Mansion, just to name three).
