As I recall, the Seavers had asked the lounge player to write out the song for them (which he did...and left it at the front desk, as they were checking out early the next morning), but never signed it.
Then, the night they taught it to Dave & Bob, Tom (then 10 years old) kept coming out of his bedroom complaining that they were all making too much noise,necessitating one of the parents to stop playing/singing and put him back to bed.
I swear I remember Bob telling that story one night in concert. And, telling how Tom had kinda made up for the interruptions that night by pretty much pitching the NY Mets to the World Series in 1969.
