IIRC, Nellie, successive Australian Governments decided that it was not worth their while to push the issue, which was a very minor irritant - they not not prosecute 'Prince Leonard' for taxes and Australian postal authorities handled mail bearing PHRP stamps. Similarly, the Wheat Board did not seek to enforce its production quotas in relationship to the PHRP, that being the source of the conflict that led to 'Prince Leonard's' 'secession'. I don't know what the local government council did about his rates.
