1. Why can some kids transfer out of state, while others can’t?
2. How are some families transferring to schools while others can’t, I get certain schools get away with stacking addresses but how are people getting in while families that live in that district can’t and have to go to a different school entirely?
3. Why is WIAA blind to certain programs openly cheating yet when a school tries to help a kid it slams said school with the rule book. It seems like complete favoritism, & Fraud by the Administration.
4. How are some clubs it appears to directly feeding certain schools & no one bats an eye & in some cases some clubs feed a handful of schools that don’t directly compete but all the coaches associate with that club and congregate and it just so happens that clubs kids end up at those schools. Are the rules not actually enforceable? Or is the system too big to fail?
5. Why do we have so many Divisional Champions, in state of 8 million people we have 5 Boys Divisions & 4 Girls Divisions. This doesn’t help the sport or our state, this forces colleges to look away from here. States like California 40mil, New York 20mil, PA 13mil, Indiana 7mil, etc have larger or even similar populations and 1 or 2 divisions. This also explains why families send their kids elsewhere.
6. So the uncomfortable truth is why do we have so many weirdos that are mix into the community? From people who are tournament directors to officials why is no one saying anything about what these people say or do. We’ve all become complicit with what we allow and it’s grotesque.
Lets have an open friendly discussion about these questions.
WIAA can’t actually govern the ins and outs of every move so basically if you can make it appear on paper that you live somewhere they don’t have the resources to prove otherwise. Also proving hardship has become a joke because quite literally if you create a hypothetical that’s convincing enough you’ll be allowed to transfer. I know families that have just rented places for a month on paper got a utility bill in their name in that time frame and BAM!! You got residency. WIAA doesn’t need more than that it’s not like they check back in or even go knocking on doors. And this way provides you with skipping forfeiting 40% of your season!!! You think Tahoma, Orting, Sumner, etc etc etc are just getting lucky with the Talent they get? That’s a Fat 0% all the good schools have feeder programs at the youth levels that feed in a hand full of USA Clubs that push those kids back into those schools regardless of address. A coach, a AD, a school wants you bad enough they’ll find a way to get your kid in the door and gladly take that seat away from someone else to do it to. Behind closed doors everybody whose winning is cheating to do it period, it’s not even about athlete development it’s about what do I need to do to build a team to put trophies in those cases.
To answer your question on the pedo stuff!! Yes USA sports & WIAA cover up and hide predators. You look at this states level of commitment to invade girls sports with boys that have a mental disorder & think they are girls & in one case a sexual assault happens in puyallup my home and only now are those in charge being held accountable. We have refs through out this state that have been accused of rape, coaches with a past of sexual harassment or physical abuse, some of whom run clubs coach high school teams. I mean we see it with coaches at the college level here being removed for fraternizing with females on campus. Now calling people out is fine but most people don’t want to because it’s not convenient for them. Change only happens when we collectively agree something isn’t right & unfortunately we haven’t reached that yet. All I know is if it was your daughter or son something happened to you would actually stand up and cause a scene and wonder why no one else stood with you because most everyone is cowards
You say you don’t want to call anyone out but that’s exactly what needs to happen!!! We have USA wrestling Clubs building super teams at select High Schools, now that field will change since kids and coaches are transferring.
The community has gotten soft to abuse against kids and pick and choose which hills to die on!! And WIAA is in allowing it to happen.
