Rumor: $100 for protests at state?

Hearing a rumor coaches will need to cough up $100 to protest a match at the Dome. What is this, Rocky Mountain Nationals? Lower the quality of officials at state and of course protests go up. You don’t fix it by charging toll money. Do we pay on the spot, or does the school get billed like a minibar tab?

I can just see my lady down at the DO stressing over giving me $100 for petty cash

And Kesterson, you’re on page 6 of the rule book. I’ve read it front to back. Nowhere does it say “hand over a Benjamin to question a call.” We can’t just make up rules. This would never fly in PA.

It is if you lose the protest. Also applies to any state qualifying event.

If that's true, they better find a protest committee that knows the rules. Last year they gave bad time when they should not have on a missed Merkel. A couple years ago they let a kid get penalized a match point for hugging his coach after the whistle. Sent the match to overtime. Clear rules violations that the "committee" should know.

I was just talking about that match with someone last week. The only good that came out if it was the right state champion was crowned still.

The protest fee for WIAA state events is for all sports, wrestling isn't special.

Is this real? The officials at the finals were horrid last year.

You need to weigh in and write down your weight each time you protest, so that there is a record. You can lie and put what ever you want, but make sure you record the weight is recorded.

Normally when I sell a third of a cord of wood, I can turn that into 25 side-order flapjacks at Bruno’s, dang near a week’s worth of breakfast. Or I could trade it for 14 ciders at the Mill Haus, that’s a whole day of sippin’ apple juice, logger-style!

And now you’re tellin’ me I gotta sacrifice food and beverage for lowly ranked officials in the state finals? Shoot… I better go find me some old growth just to keep up. Slammo!

Sounds like a good way to make extra money. If you kid is from wrong school the review board will not rule in your favor. If I was confident they would get it right after a review I’d be more excited about this rule. WILL THEY BE ABLE TO WATCH REPLAY FILM?
