Pac Coast Overall Better

Pac Coast was an overall better tournament this year. Flow was better. Day 1 ended significantly earlier than last year. The last match finished before 7pm on days one.
Day 2 was long and drawn out. Girls brackets probably could have been finished in 1 day. Semi finals were really early and several of the finalist wanted to get it done earlier. Breaking down the mats and setting up finals was faster, but it draws the tournament unnecessarily longer. Which sucks for those who are waiting all day for finals matches to come and those that have long drives back home.
The second chance tournament should come back.
Admission cost is too high and you have to pay for parking.
I still don't like the venue, but overall way better than last year.

Venue? Think it’s probably the best venue Clark county has.

Who is kidding whom? The high school football stadium would be better. Let the kids wrestle in the cold and rain. Makes everybody tougher. Table help can use an umbrella and have free hot cocoa.

It's supposed to be a fundraiser. But, the venue and expenses take too much money. $20,000 to rent the venue is crazy. The tournament has become less of a fundraiser than anything.
Why didn't the team have enough money to buy their kids headgear and the wrestlers have to purchase their own? Why cant Evergreen afford to go to tournaments every weekend? Why doesn't the team have any money?
The tournament that is supposed to be a fundraiser, isn't making the team money. It all goes back to running the tournament for the next year.
The venue is great if the goal isn't to raise money for a wrestling team.

It is the best venue Clark county has. But you are correct if it’s money you want to make it needs to be moved back to a school. Ps most schools don’t buy all the kids headgear. And most schools use fundraising to afford tournaments.

It's run by evergreen boosters. It's supposed to be a big fundraiser for the team. But, with the venue, its really not anymore.

You have a year to figure it out and try to make it a money maker again! Having it in such a nice big venue is an ego booster but doesn’t help the children!

They bring in over $30,000 in entry fees. I would estimate the gate brings in another $15000. If they only paid $20000 for venue they are making money. I am sure the cost of referees is quite large as well.

The officials aren’t that spendy,

It sounds like money could be used for incorrect purposes?

If that tourney brings in 35k plus

Then what other costs are there?

PAC coast less than $70 for two people for the weekend.
Gut Check more than $100 for two people for the weekend.
One tournament seems greedy, one is a fundraiser, one is a business.

After Gut Check I appreciate how smoothly this ran. Yes we had to pay for parking…..but no vehicles had windows smashed out. So that’s worth 6 bucks a day. Lol
