Brackets

What size are the brackets this year? What’s the largest bracket you can wrestle back for 3rd in two days?

That depends on number of entrants, number of mats available for competition and number of rounds wrestled on day one. I think and I could be wrong, a competitor is allowed 5 matches per day not including forfeits. A 32 man bracket could safely be done in two days with little planning. A 64 man bracket could be done by a far better tournament director than me.

They upped it to 6 matches allowed per day, but only ten matches over two consecutive days.

In a standard 64 person double elimination bracket, there are 9 consolation rounds, so a wrestler could (in theory) wrestle ten times in a weekend and complete the bracket.

No, only 10.

"1-4-7 (NEW) SECTION 4 REPRESENTATION:
ART. 7 . . . No contestant shall wrestle in more than 10 matches in a two-consecutive day period.

Rationale: The rule to allow 6 matches in a day was more for meet management on one-day tournaments and is not to allow more matches in a season."

I know they can do a 64 man bracket was wondering about 128 seems like they had some 128 last year. Think they are running 14 mats.

When you rent a venue like that, expenses go up. It becomes less about the quality of the teams and more about the quantity of teams. Gotta make money some how...
I'm sure quality still matters, but what other reason would there be to do a 128 person bracket?
