Ain’t that right petey!

I’ve noticed ol ‘Jesus Pete only showcases the winners on his social media . Why is that? What about the not-so good kid who just got his ass handed to him by one of the studs (that he’s chasing around the tournaments with shirts),does the kid crying against the wall not deserve a Jesus speech, and a shirt, and a picture on social media ? Why is It only the winning teams and winning wrestlers?Why not share a story about how you uplifted a kid after being embarrassed at-will in front of his family/friends ,and how you helped him restore his self esteem/confidence/faith ,while giving him hope to keep trying and getting better, or something like that? Or how you visited a struggling school that is putting in all the work, but not quite getting the results(perhaps a school overcoming the odds and barriers put in front of them) …and talk about how you helped them strengthen their bond with god while motivating them to keep chasing the dream. That shit is inspiring,being a fairweather fan is sickening ,IMO

Sorry,but I’ve watched this man show up to a school for a duel and hand out shirts to selected wrestlers from both teams and totally ignore/dismiss the jv wrestlers and the kids on varsity that weren’t very good. It makes me beg the question: Does Jesus only love the winners?

This is just plain ignorant post. Have you ever talked to the guy? I follow him on social media and on MANY occasions he takes pictures with anyone that wants them. Asks them first if he can post it. And seen him when he comes to camps and practices uplifting everyone who accepts it.

Get off your high horse you ignorant fool. Pathetic.

Get to know that man before you judge and criticize him. this is such a stupid post. Its people like you we need less of and more guys like him who inspires and stays so positive with kids. He has worked with many of my girls whether they were tough or beginners. If you actually listen to his messages you would know how dumb you sound right now. Lets hide behind a message board who no one can see who you are. Why dont you state your real name and us coaches who know him can have a real talk with you if it bugs you so much. dont hide, lets get this resolved personally.

I have seen him do that with coaches as well. He's only human. We can pray for him too. You have to remember that this is his calling. You may not be part of it. It all started to change when he merged with certain coaching personalities that will remain nameless.

While I cannot speak to your experience with Pete I can speak to mine. Pete seems to care about every kid and coach he can and does what he can to help and be kind to everyone. I have never heard him badmouth anyone or treat anyone poorly. I have known him since the mid 80's and have only seen him grown more caring for people in that time. Maybe you could connect with him in person and privately to voice your concerns? It might be a better way to resolve any anger you feel towards him.

Do you know how many kids reach out to Pete when they are stressed or suicidal? A few years ago we had wrestlers killing themselves left and right and everyone was struggling for answers. Pete only helps. There seems to be a group of complete evil assholes that continuously bash him. There are probably a hundred kids walking around with his shirts that didn’t win.

You know I would have never posted something like this but since it was posted I will have to say that my son who has a Jesus shirt and our whole family believes in God has noticed the showcases of the winners mainly. My son pointed this out to me awhile ago. But here is what I said we can do. Pray for Pete's ministry because what he is doing is incredible. I certainly doubt he is trying to do it we will never know but we can pray for him and his ministry. We as humans are never perfect only God is so keep that in mind knowing that Pete was called to do this ministry. If anyone of us can do it better then step up. If you don't like what he is doing talk to him. He is open to talk to anyone and everyone. What he is doing with his ministry is incredible, I personally respect him and what he is doing.

Here is the deal, My son does pretty good but not exactly a State Champion Hammer. Pete is usually nice and likes to push his shirts. My son likes the shirt and the guys message. The only issue I have is that Pete and (Especially Nunez) text my son all the time to switch clubs to the club he attends. If the message is about Christ, why recruit my kid? We like our current club and club coaches. Has anyone else experienced this with them??

Just an observation:

Why does this guys name keep coming up on this forum? Makes me wonder if there is something with this. Usually guys who push "Love" is someone that isnt in the lime light. IDK.... Just seems odd.

Everyone.. FCA is a non profit. They run a lot like a business. They employ people. He is employed by them. In order to stay employed one must maintain the business. Just like you see coaches jumping in photos with national champs, Pete throws the champ a jesus shirt and jumps in the photo. If you want a Jesus shirt of your own, win more or buy one.

Yes, for the most part, we all now FCA is a non-profit. However, the question is "Why does the guy keep popping up here? I dont care but I think its weird that we are discussing this guy alot on here.

Either way, just stating the obvious.
