If you can’t handle a big tourney don’t bother even trying. This is so frustrating. Getting out after 11pm on a Friday night only to have to be back early tomorrow. Get it together Othello. From seeding meeting to organization was so disappointing. Girls head coach is very rude as well!

Are you not on team reach. Information is there. If you don’t know about it or not it may be a lack of communication between you and your daughter. Instead of blasting the coach on this have them balls to talk to him in his face!

Yeah they are trying to hard to be like kelso. They cannot handle a tournament like this. The head coach is arrogant and rude. Then some guy is walking around telling people to sit down in a full gym that has spilled over into the hallways. Parents and coaches trying to walk between three different wrestling areas to watch kids wrestle. They are proud that there is 600 girls here and they don’t care about anything else. And the state tournament pricing to enter the tournament is crazy

If you guys don’t like it go find another tourney. Kelso is the same shit. We got out after 11 and needed to be there early the next morning. So feel free to find another tourney so us parents can have a seat!

As a parent you could have stayed home with your daughter. No one forces you or your team to go to any “poorly ran tournament” stay home and you won’t have anything to bitch about! Everyone complains about girls wrestling how there is not enough and then you complain when there are lots of girls wrestling under one roof. Make up your mind. Do you want girls wrestling to grow or not!

This has nothing to do with growing the sport. If you cant handle a big tournament then cap the amount of girls you enter. Are you delusional because there was absolutely nowhere to sit or stand yet they were constantly telling you to find a different place. Coaches were being lectured to be at the mats with the kids yet you could not get to the mats. This was nothing like Kelso. Yes this was a big problem as I tried to walk around to get to my girls mats. everywhere I walked just about every coach was complaining.

As far as weigh ins to have a trust system method in weigh your own girls in and we are going to take your word for it is very wrong. I do believe that is also in WIAA handbook which I also do know its already being discussed.

Other than weight in process I will say once it got going it ran fine other than how many people were in the facility, keeping people on Friday till after 11pm, and constantly being told to move. Its just not a big enough place to try to host something like this. Walking to the head table the directors were even saying so.

Well it was big enough to host those wrestlers you say they couldn’t and it also finished early. 5:00 pm on Saturday. I rather go to 11 and be done on Saturday at 5:00 pm than staying until 10 pm on Saturday. Regardless you will never win no matter where the tourney is held at. And again if you don’t like it then don’t come back! I’m sure you won’t be missed!

The competition was great but it was jammed for sure. You’re right, to get change teams will have to not come back. I don’t plan on bringing my team back. However, I’m sure other teams will want to come because there are great matches and it’s the last big tourney before postseason.
I think they could’ve pushed back “honor system” weigh ins from 8:00-9:00, so we could’ve gotten an extra hour of sleep after the late Friday night but then again if they had announced that the night before not sure it would’ve been an honorable weigh in.

What is an honor system weigh in? Shouldn’t tournaments that have large brackets be 2 full days. Friday morning then Saturday mornings. No one should be wrestling until 11. Geez

This morning they did a the coach weighs in their own girls on their own. If one of their girls didn’t make weight they are trusting you to let them know.

I don't think that was true that kelso did it that way. They had proper weighins both days. This honor system was trash. This is the first year this tournament has been ran so poorly. I am surprised it wasn't shut down for code violation. I am pretty sure the numbers exceeded the capacity limit.

They are all idiots. All you need to do is have an opposing coach do the weigh in. If there was more than one team that needed to do this, the only way you would weigh in your own team is if you are trying to hide something or don't know the rules.

It wasn't the best ran but can always be fixed. Find the cafeteria throw in a cpl more mats. Put 3 in both gyms, 2 in wrestling room, 2 in cafeteria get 10 mats going somehow. Clear out a 4-5 classrooms designate teams to certain rooms for stuff and can hang out so there is more room for parents in bleachers. Add 20 more teams will be best tourney in the Pacific Northwest. Hospitality room was legit. Just needed Pepsi rather then Coke and no more diet crap. The biggest issue I saw at the tournament was there were a couple coaches that seemed to be extremely loud all the time. Other then that great job Othello we will be back.

Yeah it was packed and it sucked, the Othello coaches are rude and full of them self's but lets talk about the finals matches finally SOME good matches Alondra Morales match went into over time, and the Ruby Rios match was super close too. It was fun to watch.

There is no way Kelso was mad at anyone not going to their tournament. That is the funniest thing yet! Othello is no where near Kelso in terms of running a tournament. Kelso could go late because there were hotels nearby. A lot of teams at Othello drove back to their schools. Stupid comparison.,

Coaches were told to weigh-in there own schools. No coaches signed off on the second day.
